A tribute to my Dad!

God blessed me with a wonderful father. He always went above and beyond for his children. I'm the youngest of three and I loved to help my dad out when I was little. He would take me everywhere with him on his errands to the grocery or hardware store. He would tell everyone he had his "helper" with him and I would feel so proud. He called me his "Little Twirp" and still does.

Me & Dad November 2008

My dad worked hard to provide for his family. He worked 30+ years in the steel mill as an electrician, working daylight, afternoon and midnight turn. He climbed to the top of the blast furnace outside in the winter to fix things with a 30 below wind chill factor. He worked inside the blast furnace at 100+ temps. He was a hard worker. Even after working midnight turn, he would stay up to attend my tennis matches, band concerts or plays.

When he would go to the store, he would remember my favorite candy bar and bring me home a treat. He could fix anything that broke! He would take us to the mall that was one hour away, and wait hour upon hour for us to pick out just the right outfit!

Happy Father's Day Dad and thanks for all the memories and all the sacrifice!
We love you!

  4. Hey Rosita, perfectly said!! I'm going to have Dad get on the blog today so he can see it :) You're so right, he was - and is - an awesome person and Dad!!! I was just telling Troy how he ran us everywhere - and all the great conversations we had in the car.
    Love you lots!!
