Happy New Year!

We will have to celebrate the NYC new year this go around since it's Saturday night and we need to get our sleep for the Lord's Day tomorrow - no midnight here!

I'm going to start "The Happiness Project" in 2012 and I'm excited! Has anyone read the book? Thoughts?

Did anyone order the One Little Word necklace Lisa Leonard is offering? You choose your mantra for 2012 and bind it around your neck to keep you going! Love the idea!

OOTD- Black and White

Work Day!! Black and White always works for classic office wear! I really love these longer tanks I got at J. Jill, they are great for layering!

OOTD-Inspiration, Recreation -Deerie Me

Anthropologie INSPIRATION

Shirt: Anthro Mirrored Deer Tee
Sweater: Mossimo
Scarf: Handmade gift
Skirt: No name from Ross
Boots: Target Kachiri
Bracelet: Handmade for me by my husband

Going for the layered look! I got the deep purple sweater at Target on markdown and my friend, Bonnie, made me this beautiful double infinity scarf for Christmas. The colors are perfection!

My husband made this for me - it's a gift that keeps on giving! It's a survival bracelet - if I should get stranded in the woods somewhere, you take it apart and it provides 10-12 feet of para-cord which can be used to tie up shelter, make fire tinder, make a fishing line, and a million other things. Kinda like the book "Hatchet" I will survive on my "Bracelet"! Practical fashion!

See all that purdy flooring in the background? I'm predicting 2012 will be the year it gets put down and I have a beautiful new cherry floor!

OOTD-Stolen!!

I was doing some surfing for fashion inspiration last night on my new tablet and came across Lisa Leonard wearing this and had to copy since I have the same dress! I love Lisa's jewelry designs and I equally love her blog because she mixes a lot of Target with places like Anthro - a girl after my own heart!

Guess what? You can web clip outfits you want to keep in Evernote! Love it! I have made a new notebook titlted "outfits" and I pop all my inspiration photos in there. Similar to Pinterest I suppose, but saved on in my own Evernote, links and all!

I am loving me some Evernote. My sermon notes are awesome now - all organized and searchable with scriptures pasted right in from You Version. New technology is the Christian's friend!
I am loving my new Acer Iconia A500!

What to wear to take kids to spend their Christmas money!

When I get something new I really like, I like to wear it!! Case it point this Sparrow sweater. I'm wearing it over my Vappu dress. I never wear this dress as a dress, always as a skirt. Here are my new Old Navy wedges I wanted for 3 months and finally scored for about $9!

The kids want to spend some of their Christmas money today so we are going to make a shopping run.

Shirt: Anthro Autumn Leaves
Dress as a skirt: Anthro Vappu Dress
Tights: Banana Republic
Shoes: Old Navy Suede Wedges in Olive

I have THE best kids. They used some of their Christmas money to buy their Mom a present! I was so touched by this! They know me so well.

From my youngest son! One of our favorite books and now movie!

From my daughter! We had been oogling over these Bungalow 360 bags and wallets in the store one day and I especially loved the sea otters!

From my oldest son - pelicans since we live by the sea and he loves birds.

From my oldest - he found this at a cool vintage handmade store- one of my favs, an owl!

Merry Everything!!

I had to crack up when I was shopping for my work White Elephant party - I found napkins that said "Merry Everything"! Had.To.Buy. I think that just about covers everything for the political correctness in the workplace!

We went to worship this morning and so happy to be with our dear brethren! No place better on earth! The kiddos had a grand time opening their gifts and they are having lots of fun playing with them.

Now it's time to bring on a Christmas day movie- I'm game! Not sure what to see, many good ones out right now.

Here is another one of my sale finds. The main reason I love Anthro is for its quirky and unusual clothes, here is a prime example. I was texting my friend Debra while I was trying things on and she was helping me decide what to buy- when I sent her this one she was quick to reply "get it"! She has it and is looking so cute in it HERE- I need to find a cropped sweater so I can do this look as well.

Another bonus, my friend, Bonnie, made me the most beautiful scarf that is a perfect match to the Mirrored Deer!

Happy Holidays!

Happy Holidays to all my blog friends! I have been swamped for the last few months and my blogging is non-existent. Even my blog reading is pretty much non-existent, except now I got an Acer tablet for my Christmas present, so in bed at night I can catch up with my blog friends! Yay!

I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Holiday season and all the best for 2012! May your days be merry and bright!
