Such Luck!

I had a pair of low boots on my fall wish list. When I am out and about doing other errands, I take a gander at the shoe department at Target, or at Marshalls or Ross. Tonight my son was begging me for some ice cream! I did NOT want to go - I was tired and it was getting late......but he was really persistent, so off we went.

The grocery is right by Ross so I said I wanted to take a quick look - and these Corso Como beauties were there! I think they were sized wrong because they say 8, but they fit me and I'm a true 9. They are all leather with a leather sole. Guess what they cost? $17!!! I saw them online for $189! They scream Anthro to me! Can't wait to sport them with a cute dress.

Also found this Steve Madden belt- reminded me of Anthropologie's Looping Lanes belt from a few years back!

OOTD-Sea Nettle Blazer

I haven't been to Anthropologie in months! I mean months! I haven't followed their styles in over a year really. It's just too much to keep up with and I've been loving my CAbi. Well Friday night we went to the town where I shop Anthro for a yogurt and nice summer evening out. I ran into Anthro and remembered instantly why I love it so much - it's just so unique. Case in point, this blazer by Daughters of the Liberation. It is tailored so nicely and from a glance, just looks patterned- but when you look closer- it's got little sea animals all over it -fish, turtles, jellyfish (or sea nettles) - LOVE it! I got it on sale for $40 a steal at Anthro. I texted my friend Debra and she named the piece for me so I could look it up line. I plan to wear it to work tomorrow over a navy dress!

Making a hemline more modest - By Maggie, 12 years old

My daughter found this dress at Gap on markdown - we loved the silhouette, the vintage-y vibe, but it needed to be just a touch longer. Her friend, Monique had added trim to one of her recent dress purchases and she told us how to do it.

Daughters are so precious - and we want to teach them to honor God in every way, including their dress. We are so thankful for the good examples we have of young Christian girls/women all around us choosing to live for God and truly put Him first in their lives. It does a mother's heart good to have her daughter ask her to help her make her clothing modest.

We always want to remember this verse:
Do not let your adorning be external—the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear—but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God's sight is very precious.
(1 Peter 3:3-4 ESV)

OOTD-The 3 Year Suit......

I've worked hard all year working out with my Beachbody workouts, going to yoga, counting every calorie and drinking Shakeology, but it took a good dose of food poisoning for me to drop those last 7 pounds and get into this suit I've had new with the tags for 3 years! The buttons on the pants were about 2 inches apart, and now I can finally button them up! Whoot!

When I was flat on my back, I couldn't see ANYTHING good from food poisoning, but maybe there was an up side!

Shirt: Old Navy
Suit: Jones of New York via ROSS

Don't want to lose my momentum, so I started Turbo Fire yesterday with Chalene - I think it's going to be a lot of fun!
