30 for 30 Recap!

Here's the first week recap of my 30 for 30. As you can see, I really like color and pattern! Up against all of these, my #8 looks like a dud - too dark!

Who would have thunk that switching up 30 items and not shopping for a month would teach you so much? I think Kendi is doing the blogging world a big service by running these challenges. It IS a challenge. Choices are so limited. Can you imagine having only 4 pair of shoes in your entire wardrobe? How about 5 cardigans? So many people in the world do, and think nothing of it! You really do learn to live with little and make due with what you have- great lessons.

recap 5-8
At first, not shopping was hard, but after just 1 week, I could care less. I truly think the more you shop, the more you WANT to shop, and it just feeds a vicious cycle. Really, how many pair of shoes do I need? Sweaters? Dresses? Come on, when is enough, enough? It's fun shopping and changing up things for seasons and trends, so I try to purge when I get something new, but some times, I find that keeping up with the "latest releases" at Anthro, Jcrew or Target is exhausting. Does anyone know what I mean??

I haven't had a lot of free time this week, so I feel out of the loop on the blogs - I have tried to read when I can. I sure am enjoying the 30 for 30 though and have "met" some other great bloggers via this avenue.

  1. Yes, Peggy, I know exactly what you mean. I've been putting together outfits for the next few months on PV and honestly, I have created enough outfits from what i already own to take me into the summer months. I don't want to limit myself to a 30 and 30, but I do want to wear all of the outfits that I've created on PV, which features items that I already own.

  2. You're doing so good with this challenge! I do know what you mean about keeping up with it all...I felt the same way. Because of that I put myself on my budget. It's helped me so much to really only get the things I love and try harder to wear more of what I already have. I look forward to seeing the next week's worth of outfits!

  3. How does it feel to be a Hot Mama all week long? I guess you're used to it though :) You always look so cute, but you have really set the bar high for the rest of us with your 30 for 30 outfits!

  4. Love your outfit choices and the fun you have with it. It is always so refreshing to come out and read your blog - no pressure, right! :) ha
Hope you have some time to relax this weekend.

  5. I have really enjoyed your blog! I stumbles across it and I read it every day:) I'm a homeschooling mother of 5 sweeties. I've been so perplexed by these "30 for 30 challenges". I don't even have 30 pieces of clothing altogether! I'm content, unless I start checking the stores online and reading the fashion blogs. I've found that I NEED to stay away from the mall!!! Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Anthro and Target and will occasionally splurge but with 4 girls in the house who grow like weeds, the'r wardrobe gets first dibs on the wallet:)
Thanks again for your blog. I love your boldness for Christ!!!!

  6. You are doing such an amazing job with the challenge! I think your creativity is inspiring and you always look fantastic.

  7. When trying to keep up with the 30 for 30, don't even worry about commenting rounds. A very nice group of outfits for week 1. Can't wait to see more.
