Making a hemline more modest - By Maggie, 12 years old

My daughter found this dress at Gap on markdown - we loved the silhouette, the vintage-y vibe, but it needed to be just a touch longer. Her friend, Monique had added trim to one of her recent dress purchases and she told us how to do it.

Daughters are so precious - and we want to teach them to honor God in every way, including their dress. We are so thankful for the good examples we have of young Christian girls/women all around us choosing to live for God and truly put Him first in their lives. It does a mother's heart good to have her daughter ask her to help her make her clothing modest.

We always want to remember this verse:
Do not let your adorning be external—the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear—but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God's sight is very precious.
(1 Peter 3:3-4 ESV)
