Before and After- Laundry Room & Office

It was time. Things were a little out of hand and my laundry room/office had become my dumping ground. It's taken several weeks of cleaning out but I've made progress!

 Before
Looking into the laundry room
This was post Christmas-time. Trying to put away my decorations and shopping after holiday sales. You can see I hang dry my clothes on a rod above the washer.  This has kept our clothes nice for a long time.

Finally got rid of that horrifying navy blue blind that made everything so dark!  Put up photos of my children on the top shelf.  I bought the iron work wall decor piece at Ross for $16 and my hubby spray painted it teal.  Found the Levolor rattan blinds at Ross for $12!!  Curtains from Target Xhilaration line - they were too long so I cut them off after the third tier- these totally remind me of the Anthro ones! Got rid of one of the clothes sorters to make more room.  Rug and pillow from Target.

I was able to fit all of my jewelry, makeup, hair stuff (dryer, curling iron) into new bins in the closet, thus getting rid of the rolling sterilite drawer thingy.

Bought the peg hangers at Home Depot to hang my statement necklaces.  My BFF got me that print years ago. I finally framed it - the border on the mat is little red mushrooms!

Ironing board that folds down. I also bought a new Conair steamer at Ross for $17 that works awesome. I've always wanted one!

I removed the dehydrator and now store it in the closet until I need it.  Made more room for my Desk Apprentice to work better.  My laundry is caught up today!

Shabby Chic curtain hangs in the doorway. I removed the door to make more room. I got that cross stich at a garage sale for $.50!  And same above mentioned BFF gave me the framed Mary Engelbreit print!  I hang my workout jackets, yoga mat and aprons here.

The details!  Rug and pillow from Target. Tractor desk chair from Target.

Apparently, I like animals everywhere, not just on my clothing!

I feel great making this much progress! I still have to go through all of the overhead cabinets and declutter and organize.  Thanks to my friend Dianalin for the inspiration!

Old Navy and Organizing!

Did anyone go to the Old Navy buy 2 get 1 free sale for the 4th? I had a $10 gift card plus a $10 coupon, so I stopped by. I was thrilled to find these ruffle henleys on a low markdown of $7.99 each. I already have the white one and am using it quite a bit as seen HERE and HERE. After getting these 3 shirts AND making a donation to our Troops, I still only paid $1.00 per shirt!! Whoot! These make great layering pieces under cardigans because no sleeves to bunch up under the cardi.
I have been wanting to organize my jewelry for a while now. I saw these little gadgets today at Ross and thought I'd give them a try. "Bling-Eez" - makes your Bling easy to find!
This is how it turned out. Now I can see all my pretty necklaces at a glance!
Ugh- my IKEA shoe bin is a disaster. I have to dig through shoes and crawl under my bed -no fun! I made it my mission today to organize these shoes!
Ross again! They had this shoe rack - now I can see all my shoes at a glance. Getting dressed is going to be soooo much easier tomorrow with everything in site.

My next want - Joy Mangano hangers to do my clothing!!

Spring Cleaning - My Livingroom Current!

I got Day 1 done tonight! So here are my before and afters for my current livingroom!

BEFORE
AFTER

HOMESCHOOL BOOKSHELF BEFORE
This was a bear to do - I had to put things back into our regular school room in their place and organize what we are still working on. I just wanted it out of the livingroom because of the clutter factor.
HOMESCHOOL BOOKSHELF AFTER

BEFORE
Notice the "sheet" movie screen we use to watch movies via our projector -poor man's home theatre!

AFTER
I didn't get the mantle in this picture, but I cleaned the whole thing off! It was housing the kids pottery class collection, which I moved to another location in their rooms.

Spring Cleaning Day 4 - The Pantry!

Please see my post below on the recent pantry rehaul I did - fits right in to day 4, while I catch up with you all!

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! I've halved my pantry!!

Whooo-hooo! Inspired by Halving It All I finally took the plunge and "decluttered" my pantry! My motivation was to give my husband a space to store his things and I really didn't need everything I had stored up in my pantry! I feel so light and fresh!

You can see in the pics I have gone from plastic storage to glass. I love it! I'm still using my Corning Ware my friend Amy got me for a wedding present 18 years ago! It's still going strong. I am so happy with how I downsized. It makes me realize just what I CAN live without and gives me motivation to keep it rolling in other areas of my home!

Starting Monday I'll be joining the Party at SimpleMom to Spring Clean! My kids are working on their rooms too!

WORK IN PROGRESS - SO MUCH TO GO THROUGH!

COMPLETELY EMPTY READY FOR A NEW OWNER TO TAKE POSSESSION!

A NEW SMALLER PANTRY CONTAINING ONLY THE ESSENTIALS! NOTHING UNNEEDED TO GET IN THE WAY. LESS IS MORE...........
