Fancy Pants!

These pants have a story, but then again, ALL of my clothes seem to have a story!

I REALLY loved these Jcrew cords since I first saw them in the catalog.  The other day I popped in Jcrew because I heard they had 50% off the markdown (which they NEVER do!)  I saw these pants on the rack and ran to try them on (even though they were way smaller than my size - one can hope!)  No luck, but my personal shopping friend, Mitch, decided to look them up to see if he could find them in my size.  One pair in a city that was very far from me.  I had him put them on hold anyhow, and thought about how I would get them (charge send maybe?) Then I remembered my friend from work lived in that city and I would be seeing her at the company party in 2 days - score! I called and paid for them and she picked them up and brought them to me!

The BEST part - $20!!!

OOTD- Polka Dots and Repurposing

It's been a looooong week but we made it through - and with a champion on the family! My daughter's team WON the tournament! My boys team played awesome, just didn't pull out the win. I'm beat and spending this week catching up around here.

My CAbi party was a huge success! I earned 11 half price items and $75 CAbi dollars! I certainly couldn't use all of that myself, so I gave some half-price items to my friends and bought myself 4 things (major restraint)! Can't wait to get my goods! I love so much of the fall line. I love CAbi for it's great mix and matching ability, super comfy fabrics and awesome fit. I am sold. Seriously, I think I could never shop again and be happy just buying a few CAbi pieces each season - and that is saying a LOT for a hobby shopper like me!

I did snag a great "Easy Care Merona" dress at Target for $6. It totally reminded me of a CAbi dress and I can throw it in a suitcase and it won't wrinkle a bit! I haven't been to Target in like 3 weeks! That is a record for me. I don't even recognize the items on markdown!

I wasn't digging the "fringe" on this sweater, so I decided to re-purpose it instead of getting rid of it -I simply cut off the fringe!

OOTD-Compliments of My Closet Travels

I was happy to win Molly's Jcrew giveaway and I got this Tuxedo Henley with my winnings! I had looked at it for a long time and really loved it. Molly has great taste in Jcrew and Anthro. We have become great friends because of meeting in the blog world. She is my WV connection since that is my home state! We are fellow "Mountain Mamas"! She and I have talked a lot about clothing, budgets and keeping the balance of it all.

Thank you Molly for the gift card and thank you for being a great friend!

Terrible pic with my camera early in the morning! I wish you could see the super cute detail of this Jcrew double breasted jacket! Thanks to Lorraine for my fab necklace from the Secret Santa swap last year!

Do you like the micro in my photo? I brought it home from work so my scientist son can blow things up in it like Ivory soap! Fun!

OOTD- Jcrew Garage Sale Style!

Here is one of my Jcrew garage sale purchases! It's a Jcrew Perfect Shirt in Vine. I love it, makes me feel very girly even when wearing jeans!

Here it is from the catalog- my husband suggested I wear it in the same "cool" way half-way tucked in, half-way out - I think he was being sarcastic, ya think?
And here it is on a home school teaching mom. Speaking of, our assigned teacher is coming today to check on us and collect our expository writing essays! Better run!

Turning 40 is fine!!!!

Well, my big 4-0 is shaping up to be mighty fine! Today was Phase I of the birthday celebration! Today my kids took me out for so much fun! My youngest son took me for a DQ Blizzard (Recee Cup, my fav) and then he bought me Purple Ninja Girl from IchiBanKan that I have wanted for like forever! She is a purse charm and I put her on my bag immediately!

PURPLE NINJA-She reminds me that in my 40's I need to work on my Ninja like qualities of stealth, true patience, self-control, dedication & loyalty!

My oldest son took me to my absolute fav, Starbucks for my Grande Americano and Lucy's Gluten Free Chocolate Chip Cookies! Love it! Then he totally surprised me with this Owl Coin Purse from IchiBan! I love owls - so into them right now!

MRS. OWL - reminds me to embrace my 40's and continue to gain wisdom during my next decade!

And from my little girl - a gift from Anthropologie! She remembered that the very first time I set foot in an Anthro, I loved this little vintage-y sugar bowl! We put our organic, raw sugar in it!

BIRDIE SUGAR BOWL - This reminds me to be sweet to others, and to allow myself little "sugary" treats now and then! I'm 40 after all - I've earned it!
And I got these clothing gifts with money I received from various family members! I got THE best deals today! I was floored when I entered Jcrew to do a return and saw all their awesome sales of items that were just in the spring catalog! What up? I don't know but I'll take them!

Old Navy Flower Applique Cardigan
After seeing this on Anthroholic yesterday - I went by to see if they had one in my size as it is sold out online -they had one left! It was meant to be!

The first of my Jcrew gems! Chain Flower Tee -This baby was $14.99 - marked down from $49.99! Hello bargain!

Ripstop Cargo Pants - OK, these were $79.99 like two seconds ago......today they were $19.99! I was sooo excited - they were on the cover of the March catalog and I so longed for them. At $20 and my birthday - they are now mine! I got the Safari color.
Loved. This. Cardi. I loved the vest that Ginger Girl was sporting HERE and wanted get either the vest or the cardigan. Today I got this in a rosy pink color! It was still on the main display when I was at the store today, but it was marked down. The color looks great with the new cargos and tee!

Tunic from the Garden Collection at H&M $9.99 - I can't wait to wear this one with just some jeans and the pretty new sandals I got at Payless shown below!

I saw these in a magazine- can't remember which one now but thought I would check them out when I happened upon a Payless. I guess they were their most popular shoe of the season - they were sold out everywhere! I finally tracked down a pair and they gave me 10% off, plus a $3 coupon - and they were already on sale - so I got them for $15!! I will wear these ALL spring and summer. IRL they have a chambray look.
