Bay Area Blogger Meet Up!

OK ladies of the Bay, let's get together for some shopping and fun in May! Debra, of I Dream of Anthropologie, quickly became one of my best blogging buddies and beyond that, we have become great friends! I am so excited that she is coming to SF in May for a trip with her husband, and we are going to get to finally meet!

We would like to plan an early evening to get together with other Bay Area fashion bloggers, so come one, come all and meet your fellow blogging buddies. If you would like the details on the where and when, shoot me an email! I hope many of you will be able to come - I already know Anjali from Love and Wardrobe will be there!

We would love to meet all of you!

OOTD- Waiting Room Outfit

Well, did not plan to spend the day going from doc to doc, but my oldest took a super hard line drive in the palm of his glove last night and it needed attention. Yep, it's broken. Bummer. Out of the line up and soccer for several weeks. No piano either. He's not in super bad pain, but it's just a bummer that this happened. Two years ago he broke his other hand playing baseball when he got hit by the pitcher while batting.

I got this simple white shirt at the Gap for $5 - retail $54.50. I love that it's simple, but has some pattern. Even the sleeves are a different pattern from the rest of the shirt.

Here is my new spring handbag tote! I was sooo happy to find these at Marshalls one day - it's a Baekgaard, the leather handbag sister company of Vera Bradley, owned by founder Barbara Bradley Baekgaard's husband. I had admired them in the handbag boutique here, but at $67, couldn't bite- this one was $12! In real life it's a Tiffany Blue with yellow trim - so happy and cheerful! Best of all it fits all my stuff well and has a slide pocket for my cell phone, which is a must for me in a purse.

The Story of my H&M Hasbeen Shoes - All the Way from New York City!

This is THE best story ever about a fashion purchase!

This is the story of the most beautiful red sandals ever made, Swedish Hasbeen Clogs for H&M, and how they made their way to Peggy's happy feet!

I was reading all the blog buzz about the H&M Hasbeens that were due to release April 20th to stores. I researched them, I entered contests to win them, I went to bed dreaming about them. I was ready and waiting on the evening of April 19th, to wake up and bring them home. On April 20th, I called my local H&M and they said they didn't carry them. Only one store in the city was actually carrying the shoes. I called the city and asked to have a pair put on hold - they said no can do! They were not holding the Hasbeens and they were selling out fast on the 1st day of release!! What? Panic! I cant' make it to the city today, and my beautiful red shoes will surely sell out before I can get a pair!

So, I texted my young friend who I thought may be going into the city to ask her if she could scoop me a pair. She said "I can't make it to the city today, but I will pick you some up in New York tomorrow!" What???? You see, she works for the airlines and was planning a one day trip to NYC! She called the Manhattan store and said "I'm flying in tomorrow from San Francisco, can you put a pair of Hasbeens on hold for me?" The clerk said "Well, if you are flying all the way from SF, I will put a pair on hold for you!" SCORE!

She flew there in the morning, got my shoes and returned home in the wee hours of the morning the next day. Her mother delivered them to my door! I promptly put them on my feet and started strutting around the house in them. I took photos and texted them to my sister who shares my love of all things red- especially shoes- to get her reaction on my fancy new Manhattan-purchased shoes!

I'm big-time now baby. My husband said "You think you are hot stuff prancing around in those shoes, don't you?" Oh yeah, you better believe it! I may just wear these shoes every single day of the entire spring and summer!

So, a huge shout out to Naomi for searching out my shoes, and going to such lengths to bring them home to me! You are the BEST! I think I shall have to get you a special treat for helping me out.

Whoot-whoot! Me and my perfect red Hasbeens are going to be soooo happy together! Look for them in my upcoming OOTD posts!

Inspiration, Recreation

I love the look of the silky, flowy blouse! That is why I so adored the Tucker for Target line. You can't go wrong with a top like this for simple, easy, put together look!

I was thrilled to find this Bayla Jane Piece de Resistance blouse on the rack at Anthro last week when I was spending my gift card. Retail $128, I paid $1.09 after the gift card (it was on sale for $19.99).

OOTD- Prairie Vappu

I got this beautiful floral top from Molly, at Anthromollogies last week! I love it. After looking it up online, I think it's called Prairie Breeze by Edme & Esyllte. I adore the colors and the cut. I can't wait to wear it with some jeans. Today I paired it over my Vapu dress.

We have been schooling all day and dog watching and now it's on to ball games and church services. Whew!

OOTD- Faceted Skirt

I found this little number at Anthro this weekend while spending my birthday gift card from my friend V!

I got this Floreat Faceted Skirt and a Bayla Jane silk blouse and I had to pay a whopping $2.17!! That's $1.08 per item! Love that!
(Retail on these 2 items is $256!)

Definition of Faceted:
having facets; "a faceted diamond"
Having a number of flat sides, as opposed to a continuous round contour
So I guess this skirt fits the definition!

I think I will get many wearings out of this piece, making it "multifaceted"!

Wearing it with this simple black tee, almost makes it seem like a dress!

Review of Rudi's Organic Bakery Gluten-Free Breads!

The kind folks at Rudi's Organic Bakery sent me some gluten-free bread to try out! I typically eat Udi's bread (which I LOVE), but my sister (who is also gluten intolerant) told me about Rudi's and how much she loved it, so I wanted to give it a try.

The Cinnamon Raisin bread is great for breakfast or a snack. I toast it and put peanut butter or Nutella on it and it really satisfies.
Here is a photo of the Multigrain bread. It's wonderful. I really missed having hearty bread for a sandwich with seeds and grains in it - this fits the bill! I used it to make a club sandwich and it was delicious! Just like old times!

It is wonderful to be able to once again eat the foods I used to love! I am a huge sandwich person and these breads make me happy!

I give Rudi's Gluten-Free two thumbs up! For taste, texture, size of loaf, and price point! Go to their website HERE to get a $1 off coupon and try some for yourself. You won't be disappointed!
