OOTD-Snow Leopard!

Roar! I have had some leopard going on this past week - I would like to call it Snow Leopard since it's in the gray family! I am having some serious love for these CAbi Sateen Brees! Who knew pants could be so comfy! I wore these to work today - but I can also see dressing them down for casual wear too. LOVE me some CAbi. I need to become a consultant already. If their home offices were in San Francisco, you can bet I'd be beating their door down to hire me! That would be my dream job! Working for CAbi - but in an administrative role, not so much sales.

OOTD-Bright Butterflies!

I can't tell you how many times I looked at this shirt at Old Navy - like a zillion. I loved it! I have the tie-waist dress in this print, and love it, but I reeeeeealy wanted the top - so comfy and easy and cute for everyday life. Every time I went to ON, my favorite manager would do a price check for me, just in case it was marked wrong! I just couldn't pay $30 for a printed top. Then it went on sale - gasp - for a whopping $25! What kind of markdown is that? Anywho..........long story short, when Super Cash stared Monday, the shirt was still there - only one, in my size - kismet! Brought it home for $14! We are going to the zoo today, so I find this shirt appropriate!

Top: Old Navy Smocked Dolman Sleeve Shirt - Retail $29.94- paid $14.xx
Pants: H&M - $19.99
Shoes: Old Navy Snake Capped Toe -Retail $23 paid $7.23
Bracelet: Gift made my hubby
Earrings: Kohls

OOTD- Old Navy and The Not Bummer Summer

I am wearing Old Navy today. I have a good story about this shirt. I wore it once, then when I went to put it on a second time, I noticed a snag in it. I took it back and asked the manager if I could just exchange it for store credit because of the snag- she refunded what I paid $17 and let me buy it at 75% off the current clearance price- so I paid $1.99!! That will cover a few more wears! The necklace is an Old Navy find as well.

I'm headed to my shift at the Fireworks booth for our soccer teams- I have to work for my daughter's team today and my boy's team another day!

Can you see our "Not Bummer Summer" list we have created on the board ala Judy Moody? It's been fun knocking out the kids summer wishes one at a time!

Do you like the micro in my photo? I brought it home from work so my scientist son can blow things up in it like Ivory soap! Fun!

OOTD- Waiting Room Outfit

Well, did not plan to spend the day going from doc to doc, but my oldest took a super hard line drive in the palm of his glove last night and it needed attention. Yep, it's broken. Bummer. Out of the line up and soccer for several weeks. No piano either. He's not in super bad pain, but it's just a bummer that this happened. Two years ago he broke his other hand playing baseball when he got hit by the pitcher while batting.

I got this simple white shirt at the Gap for $5 - retail $54.50. I love that it's simple, but has some pattern. Even the sleeves are a different pattern from the rest of the shirt.

Shirt: Gap Jeans: Access Shoes:H&M Hasbeens

Here is my new spring handbag tote! I was sooo happy to find these at Marshalls one day - it's a Baekgaard, the leather handbag sister company of Vera Bradley, owned by founder Barbara Bradley Baekgaard's husband. I had admired them in the handbag boutique here, but at $67, couldn't bite- this one was $12! In real life it's a Tiffany Blue with yellow trim - so happy and cheerful! Best of all it fits all my stuff well and has a slide pocket for my cell phone, which is a must for me in a purse.

OOTD- Prairie Vappu

I got this beautiful floral top from Molly, at Anthromollogies last week! I love it. After looking it up online, I think it's called Prairie Breeze by Edme & Esyllte. I adore the colors and the cut. I can't wait to wear it with some jeans. Today I paired it over my Vapu dress.

We have been schooling all day and dog watching and now it's on to ball games and church services. Whew!

OOTD- Faceted Skirt

I found this little number at Anthro this weekend while spending my birthday gift card from my friend V!

I got this Floreat Faceted Skirt and a Bayla Jane silk blouse and I had to pay a whopping $2.17!! That's $1.08 per item! Love that!
(Retail on these 2 items is $256!)

Definition of Faceted:
having facets; "a faceted diamond"
Having a number of flat sides, as opposed to a continuous round contour
So I guess this skirt fits the definition!

I think I will get many wearings out of this piece, making it "multifaceted"!

Wearing it with this simple black tee, almost makes it seem like a dress!

OOTD- Mary, Mary, you are looking foxy!

This post is my 2nd entry into "Feminine Fashion Week" over at Natasha's blog! I was so happy to see her do this feature! It would warm your heart to see all the young women who are participating this week. So many girls and young women who are seeking to be pleasing to God in their manner of dress. This to me is rare! So many young hearts, seeking the will of God in their lives -simply wonderful!

I'm sure I am the oldest participant by far, but I wanted the other young ladies to see that there are women out there who want to remain modest in their dress and serve God also. Way to go ladies - you all are great!

My photos are a bit overexposed due to fog, but you can still see the outfit details!

Dress: Anthropologie Mary Dress - free with gift card!
Cardigan: Anthropologie Wily Sweater (foxes on there)- free with gift card!
Tights: Ross
Shoes: Sonoma Oxfords from Kohls $20 on sale

OK, if you don't own this dress- go get it NOW!! (It comes in purple too.) With the extra 25% off, it is around $38 and it is super comfort. I love dresses like this where you can go about your daily routine in comfort, but looking pulled together. That's why I so love a dress! Look at the details - the pockets (see above they are deep front pockets but you can put your hands in at the sides), the buttons on the arm, the waistline, the shoulders - LOVE!
And with my new favorite whimsical animal sweater from Anthro - the Wily Sweater with little foxes all over it! I am ga-ga over this one- the double layer effect is so unique! I love the black on navy. I love the print! I love the preppy quality and the TTS fitting! Yea Anthro on this one.

OOTD- Professional Wear

Went into the ol' workplace today for my 1 day this week! It is so great to work for a boss who is one of my dearest friends! We work together so great as a team and we laugh all day doing it! Who could ask for anything more? Too blessed to be stressed! (I heard that somewhere- probably on someone's blog!)

These babies are JUST what I was looking for....inspired by my friend Catherine at work! I had been admiring hers for a few weeks now and finally came across a similar pair!
And in other news, do these look like Kristina J's booties (seen on her here), because I love all the looks she wears with her super cool booties and I think I may have found a pair that fit the bill!

OOTD-The Goddess Amphitrite smiles on me!

I seriously can't believe the good fortune I've had of late at Anthro with sale items! This one even has a story!

I went the other day to check out the sales and didn't find much. I was standing in line with a Headwaters Tee in red - Demi Lovato rocking the tee HERE, and this lady comes up from behind me and just goes to the register (i.e. cuts the line as we used to call it in grade school). The SA looked at me apologetically and said "I'll be with you in a moment." I said "No problem" and just chatted with Maggie while we waited.

Then I saw it, she removed the Amphitrite Cardigan from her return bag. I was sizing up the woman doing the return to see if she looked my size. I KNEW this sweater had to be on final markdown by now and I had wanted it so much at full price and still couldn't swing it at it's $70 sale price. I was squeezing the circulation out of Maggie's arm at this point and couldn't ask the SA quick enough if I could buy the cardi! She said "Sure" and I ran to try it on - it fit, but still had the $128 price tag on it so I wasn't quite sure of the price. I asked her to check it, held my breath, crossed my fingers......................$29!!! Sold! I let out a squeal, entertained the SA with my reaction and went on my merry way with my cardi!!

The Greek Goddess Amphitrite
smiled on me that day!

Look at the cute little seahorse in the coral and cool ruffle trim! The details are truly what sets Anthropologie apart from any other store out there!
And why I love it so much!!

So don't despair if you think you can't afford Anthro - neither can I! Just have a ton of patience and in due time, you will get some pieces you love!

OOTD- Jcrew Garage Sale Style!

Here is one of my Jcrew garage sale purchases! It's a Jcrew Perfect Shirt in Vine. I love it, makes me feel very girly even when wearing jeans!

Here it is from the catalog- my husband suggested I wear it in the same "cool" way half-way tucked in, half-way out - I think he was being sarcastic, ya think?
And here it is on a home school teaching mom. Speaking of, our assigned teacher is coming today to check on us and collect our expository writing essays! Better run!

OOTD- All Wrapped Up!

Don't forget to enter the GIVEAWAY!
Don't forget to submit your TARGET OUTFIT!

In the "spirit" of the holiday, I took my OOTD with a Mummy! He's my buddy.

Dress: Simply Vera Wang
Cardi: Old Navy
Boots: Sears
Necklace: Ross
"Come on, give us a kiss!" (Line from Sweeney Todd, the play in which I was Mrs. Lovett in high school. The entire script is etched in my memory forever.)
I have a great fashion story to tell you friends.

I am in line at the grocery. This man (yes, I said man) stops me and says "Where in the world did you get those cute boots?" I am flabbergasted, yet so excited that someone in the grocery is appreciating fashion! This guy was a manly man, yet dressed to the nines. So, I didn't want to answer where bought them but had to say, "Um, Sears!" He said, "You are kidding? No way, they are so cute, all that detail. Where were they made?" I said "I have no idea!" Then he said "Well, just tell people they are Italian!" Then he proceeded to tell me about his secret of shopping Nordstrom Rack and that he got his Armani shoes for $250! I said "No!!!" We exchanged shopping stories, then got our groceries and parted ways! A kindred "spirit" at the grocery - who knew?

Today after school my son showed me an experiment on Kinetic and Potential Energy. What? Obviously my kids are smarter than me! That's homeschooling for ya!

Kinetic energy is one half times the mass times the velocity squared. Kinetic energy = 1/2mv2. Potential energy is the mass times gravity times the height. Potential Energy = m*g*h. Conservation of energy states that Ki + Pi = Kf + Pf.

OOTD-Staying Warm in Refinement!

One thing is for sure- I get cold easily! In my house all day, even with a fire, I am usually wearing layers or a big sweater! So, I have to stay warm to be happy! Today I chose my Refined Cord Shirtdress layered over a turtleneck. Boots keep me extra warm. We are working away in our schoolroom until time for soccer practice!

Dress: Anthro Refined Cord Shirtdress

Tneck: Kohls

Tights: Banana Republic

Boots: Sears

Weird sales just keep falling into my lap! Like these shoes I pined after in summer! I couldn't find them any where in my size then, but yesterday found them for $4.95.
And I went looking for the Tucker for Target Signature Blouse and happened upon this Painted Flowers Tunic - on sale for $27.99 right now (30% off) but for some reason this one was $10.07??? Go figure- it was my size, so now it's mine! Yeah for unexpected sales!
Anyone have any styling tips for this tunic?? Thanks! And now, I switch from Teacher to Lunch Lady!

OOTD- Sugar-Coated Shirtdress, for a Sugar-Loving Lady!

Good morning blogging pals!! Did I sleep last night?? Wow, it sure doesn't feel like it! Rough night, but hoping for a productive day!

I told you I am on a roll with the shirtdress love! Here is Anthro's Sugar-Coated Shirtdress. I love the tailoring, love the fall colors, love the length, love the vintage-vibe!

Dress: Anthropologie Sugar-Coated Shirtdress
Tank: Ross
Tights: Banana Republic
Boots: Union Bay via Kohl's
Necklace: Owl from Kohls
But look, the neatest part about this dress is, you get a two for one!!This is the Sugar-Coated turned inside out!! Isn't the color beautiful! The lining is done so well, there are no seams! If you remove the tags, it looks like it was made to wear this way! It is a little tricky zipping and buttoning it, but it's do-able! The under skirting has a pretty lace trim, and the real skirt has a pretty ribbon trim that is hard to see in this photo. I love how the shirt is accented by the contrasting trim at the neckline and sleeves! This gives the dress a completely different look!
I was featured in Anthroholic's Reader Outfits this week wearing the inside out look - I love Kim's weekly feature and it's always fun to be a part of it! This week all the ladies look especially fabulous- outfits and backgrounds- you must take a look!
